Galaxy GYVA-25
PLANETARIUM installation at the Young Victoria & Albert Museum, London, 2023

DSCF2125.JPG

The PLANETARIUM GYVA-25 was certainly Tristan Blondeau's most challenging project to date.

Planetarium brings together the varied landscapes found on our earth, divided into 25 planets with diameters ranging from 25 cm to 2.5 cm, and several other elements such as an airplane, a satelite, asteroids and clouds, making up an installation of around forty elements.

Each and every element of the installation was created in Tristan Blondeau's workshop during several months using a variety of techniques, from traditional hand-work to more modern like 3D printing.

A complex network of over a hundred LEDs brings the installation to life, and a fiber-optic starry sky provides complete immersion ( more picture and information on how it's done here

Planetarium GYVA-25 has been part of the YV&A collection since the reopening in July 2023. You'll find it at the very beginning of the permanent exhibition circuit.
